January 15 is National Strawberry Ice Cream Day! According to www.punchbowl.com: The ice cream we know and love today evolved from ancient flavored ices. As early as 3000 BC, people in China served their guests sweet juices mixed with ice or snow. While fruity ice cream flavors are still popular today, vanilla and chocolate are the clear […]
It’s almost 2016. What are your new year resolutions? I hope to finish my needlepoint kitchen moldings (see previous posts). I have four panels left. When I’m finally done, perhaps I’ll have an open house. I hope to design many new needlepoint canvases. I see that many of my orders online come from the “New […]
My seven year old son, Shauly, designed this canvas today. He was deeply engrossed in artwork when I happened to notice. “What are you drawing?” I curiously inquired. “I’m making a needlepoint for you. It’s called Fireworks.” I complimented him and told him I’ll post it here. Now he wants to know if any […]
I designed and stitched a decorative pillow for my daughter Leah. It’s fluffy and feminine, and most of all, fun to stitch! I submitted an article about it to Needlepoint Now magazine, and it was published in the current issue. The stitches are simple, and the article explains how to stitch a name needlepoint on […]
This is my nephew’s gorgeous tefillin bag. He celebrated his Bar Mitzvah a few months ago. He visited our website, Judaica Needlepoint, and chose a design he liked. His maternal grandmother offered to stitch it for him. We supplied the canvas and threads as a birthday gift. Mazal Tov! Keep us proud!

However they are not familiar with the original “Ellen” who stitched this nice piece. Ellen, if you are reading this blog, I love your work! […]

For those of you that have been following my progress on my kitchen molding project (see previous post), I have now turned a corner. The middle is the corner cabinet which is angled. The two side ones are straight and perpendicular to each other. Soon I’m going to start charging admission to come see them […]
My kitchen recently reached its 17th birthday, and some parts are not aging gracefully. The cabinet base molding (also known as toe kick board) is awfully scratched. I decided to needlepoint new moldings for under the kitchen cabinets. I chose earth tones that match the cabinets and colors that would not look dirty if they […]
